Fun Glow Party Games for Adults

It's not just the kids who love to play games at parties, so we've compiled a list of awesome black light games for adults! Depending on how crazy you want the party to get, you can easily add in drinking elements to any of these, otherwise these black light games on their own will have the adults laughing and being entertained by the novelty of it all. Here we also provide information on how to set up a black light party and of course what the best black lights to use are.  

How to set up black light games?

The first step is to set up a room or outdoor area for a black light glow party. Black Light Beer Pong

This awesome glowing drinking game will take standard beer pong to the next level with glowing drinks, balls and/or cups! 

STEPS

Fill up clear plastic beer pong cups with neon drinks that glow underneath black light (click here for glowing drink recipes) and challenge your friends. Use neon colored ping pong balls, or paint them with neon colored paint, to really make them pop as they fly through the air.

Alternatively, if you don't want to use glowing drinks you can simply purchase neon cups that will glow underneath black lights, or use regular cups covered in neon stickers to make them stand out.

Neon Color War

This game is an awesome choice for any outdoor glow party. With Party GOAT's special UV reacting holi color powder you can have an epic color war where each player attempts to douse their opponents in as much color as possible. Throw powder at each other, or fill stockings to make color powder balls that explode with color on impact. After the battle the UV colors on your guests, clothes, hair and faces will continue to glow all night adding to the colorful fun and visual appeal of the party.

Black Light Ring Toss

The black light ring toss game is one of the most simple and affordable glow in the dark games to do. All you need is a packet of glow sticks and a packet of glow bracelets. 

STEPS

1. Choose a flat outdoor surface to play this game on, preferably on a lawn or section of concrete.

2. Position the glow stick upright in the middle of the playing area, leaving at least a 2-3 metre distance from the throwing line. You can adjust the throwing line distance of course depending on how challenging you want the game to be.

3. Create two teams of two individuals per team. Each player will be issued with three glowing bracelets and will have three turns each of tossing the rings, aiming for the glow stick.

4. The team who successfully throws the most amount of glowing bracelets around the glow stick wins the game. 

ENHANCE THIS BLACK LIGHT GAME FOR ADULTS -

*For every throw that an individual makes and misses the target, their team mate and themselves must have a drink

*Position a number of glow stick targets around the area for individuals to aim for. The further the target is, the more points it is worth. You could turn it into a game of "First to 21" resulting in the losing team having to finish their drinks.

Black Light Twister

Twister is one of the oldest and most popular party games going around, but you haven't played twister right unless it was under black lights. 

STEPS

Grab some bright neon paint and color in the twister circles so they glow bright under the black lights. Or create your own mat by painting circles on black plastic.

ENHANCE THIS BLACK LIGHT GAME FOR ADULTS -

*Each time an individual is deemed "OUT" they must down the remainder of their drink.

*For the spectators, each time a specific color or combination is called out, everyone must have a drink. You can split the crowd up into different colors and body parts so everyone knows what to listen out for and when it's their turn to drink.

Best Black Lights for Glow Parties

Black Light Jenga

Why play normal small size jenga, when you can play glow in the dark Jenga?

There are neon colored Jenga like sets available on Amazon that glow underneath black lights (officially called Tumble Tower). The best part, some of these games even come with drinking game rules included on the blocks. When you draw a block you must complete the challenge written on the block. This is a super fun addition to any glow party.

Glow Party Card Games

Buy a deck of UV reactive playing cards and you can turn any of your favorite card games into glow party games. Circle the cards around a cup for glowing games of King's Cup.Or if you can also purchase neon poker chips or paint poker chips with neon paint you could play glow in the dark poker.

Black Light Volleyball

Black light volleyball is a great way to get everyone involved at the party and is another game that is very easy to set up. 

STEPS

First, you need to make the volleyball net glow. Simply erect the net and string together some glow in the dark necklaces along the top, bottom and sides of the net. This will create the glowing rectangle net shape for the players to easily see. Then inflate a balloon that glows in the dark. You can either buy a packet of glow in the dark balloons or put some neon pain on a regular balloon. If you want more of a solid ball, buy a cheap soft volleyball and paint the ball with neon fluorescent paint. You'll now need to create teams. Teams are generally between 6-9 players. Once the teams are position on either side of the glowing net, let the games begin!

ENHANCE THIS BLACK LIGHT GAME FOR ADULTS -

*Each player must hold a drink in one hand and play with the other, trying not to spill a drop during the game. If their drink spills, even just a tiny bit, they are required to down the remainder of it and grab a fresh one. 

Black Light Body Paint Challenge

This adult black light body paint challenge will get everyone up close and personal, so we suggest putting the kids to bed before this game is played! 

What you will need for this black light challenge, is neon fluorescent body paint, or highlighter pens and limited clothing! 

STEPS

1. Individuals are to pair up. They can either know each other or not, but we suggest everyone at the party picks their own partner. 

2. Both individuals remove as much clothing as they are comfortable with as their skin will be painted on. Remembering that it will be dark, so body shapes will be hard to see under black lights...until they get covered in fluorescent neon body paint that is!

3. Each couple is issued with different colors of neon paint and a bunch or UV fluorescent pens to use as painting tools. 

4. The host of the game will go around with a hat full of specific topics and the individual who has nominated to paint first selects a topic, KEEPING THIS TOPIC AS A SECRET. Their partner and other guests are NOT to know what topic they have picked. (Suggested topics - Underwater scene, jungle animals, Disney characters, famous movies of the 2000's, magic mystery land of unicorns and rainbows) 

5. Take turns with each painter having only 5 minutes to create this colorful scene on their partners body WITHOUT writing any words. The body paint must consist of drawings only. 

6. Other guests and the person being painted on attempt to guess what the scene is by shouting out their answers. The first person to get it right is the winner (similar to games of Pictionary but with neon colors and bodies as the canvas for the artwork).

7. The individuals will then swap over turns. The game can continue for as long as you have skin left to draw or paint on.

ENHANCE THIS BLACK LIGHT GAME FOR ADULTS -

*If the individuals guess wrong or have no idea what their partner has drawn on them, both of them must scull their drinks (and have a good laugh!)
