Instant Slime Instructions - How to Mix Instant Slime

Know Your Slime: Built for the Splat

Before you mix, there is one thing you need to know: This is high-volume, liquid-style slime. It is specifically engineered for "Action" use - like filling buckets for fundraisers, loading blasters for color runs and color wars, or filling pools with slime for messy games. To ensure your project is a success, keep these three things in mind:

  • It’s Not Putty: This is not a sticky, stretchy toy-store putty. It is a wet, thick liquid (think of a thick applesauce texture) designed to splash, pour, and drench - not to be molded into a ball.
  • Built for Volume: While putty slimes are made in small batches, our powder is designed to create gallons of fun in seconds. It’s the #1 choice for "Sliming the Teachers," slime runs, slime wars and large-scale messy play.
  • Easy Cleanup: Because it’s a water-based polymer and not a glue-based putty, it is 100% hair-friendly and washable. It’s designed to be messy during the event and easy to clean up afterward.

How to make Instant Slime

The Golden Ratio:

  • US: 1 Gallon Water + 1 oz Powder = 1 Gallon of Slime
  • 2 Gallons Water + 2 oz Powder = 2 Gallon of Slime
  • Metric: 4 Liters Water + 30g Powder = 4 Liters of Slime
  • 8 Liters Water + 60g Powder = 8 Liters of Slime

Making a Full Batch? Choose your package

  • Single Color Pack: Add the entire bag to 25 Gallons (100L) of water.
  • Battle Pack or Expansion Pack: Add one individual color bag to 10 Gallons (40L) of water.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Water First: Fill your container with the desired amount of clean water.
  2. The Sprinkle: Lightly sprinkle the powder into the water while stirring. Tip: Mixing while you sprinkle prevents clumping and ensures a smooth texture.
  3. Adjust: If necessary you can adjust the consistency.
  • For Blasters & Balloons: add a splash more water for a "runny" slime.
  • For Bucket Dumps: add a dash more powder for a "thick" slime.

⚠️ Important Rules

  • Water Quality: Use fresh water only. DO NOT use salt water or high-chlorine pool water, as this will prevent the slime from thickening.

Instant Slime Clean Up - Clothes & Lawn

Clean-Up & Disposal Guide

Instant Slime is non-toxic and biodegradable, making clean-up straightforward. Depending on where you played, follow these steps for the easiest disposal:

1. The "Salt Trick" (For Containers, Tubs & Pools)

If your slime is contained in a pool or bucket, you can turn it back into liquid in seconds!

  • How to do it: Stir in approximately 1 cup of table salt per 15 gallons (60L) of slime.
  • The Result: The salt breaks down the slime into colored water, which can then be easily poured away down a drain or into a safe disposal area.
  • ⚠️ CAUTION: Never use salt directly on slime on a lawn, as salt will damage the grass.

2. Large Piles on the Ground

  • Scoop & Bin: For large amounts of slime on the ground, the most efficient method is to scoop the slime into heavy-duty waste bags for disposal in your regular trash.
  • Smaller amounts: Any remaining residue can be hosed down into the grass and soil.

3. Disposal Tips on Grass & Lawns

If you’ve used the slime outdoors on a lawn, and are unable to scoop it up, follow these "best practice" steps:

  • Spread it Thin: Do not leave slime in thick piles. Use a garden rake or broom to spread the slime wide and thin across the grass.
  • Sun & UV Exposure: Spreading it thin allows the sun’s UV rays to reach the polymers. UV light is the fastest way to "cut" the polymer chains and break them down.
  • Water: Natural rainfall or a hosing will wash the particles into the soil, where natural microbial action finishes the decomposition process.
  • Safety Note: Slime remains slippery until it has fully broken down. Mark the area as a "No-Go Zone" for foot traffic until the grass is clear.

4. Skin & Clothes

Skin: Most slime will rinse off with a hose. To remove any temporary tinting from the skin (especially after handling the dry powder), simply wash with warm soapy water.

Clothes: For the best results, hose off the bulk of the slime while it’s still wet, then toss the items into a normal washing machine cycle with regular detergent.

Please note: Due to the higher concentration of red pigment in our blood red slime, if using this product, we recommend soaking clothes overnight in an oxygen-based cleaner (like OxiClean or a similar laundry booster), before a normal washing machine cycle with regular detergent.

The Power of the Sun: Whenever possible, hang your clothes to dry in direct sunlight. The sun’s UV rays act as a natural bleaching agent and are incredibly effective at fading any remaining tint.

Instant Slime FAQs

We have kids with allergies; what's in the slime and can I get an SDS?

Safety is our top priority! Our Instant Slime is non-toxic, skin-safe, and designed specifically for messy play.

Super Absorbent Polymers: Our slime is made from high-grade Super Absorbent Polymers. These are common materials used in many household products.

Food-Grade Colorants: We use high-quality, food-safe pigments to achieve our vibrant colors.

Regarding Allergies:
While our product is non-toxic and we have never had a reported case of an allergic reaction, every child is unique. If you have concerns about a specific allergy, we recommend:

  • Checking the SDS: You can [Download our Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Here] to review the technical details with your doctor or health professional.
  • A Patch Test: Before the "big event," apply a small amount of mixed slime to a patch of skin to ensure there is no sensitivity.

Can I make Instant Slime in advance?

The Short Answer: Yes! You can mix it up to 24 hours before your event.

Our Expert Recommendation:

  • Best Option: Pre-fill your containers with water the night before, but wait to add the powder until the day of the event. Since the powder activates in just 30 seconds, this is the fastest way to ensure the freshest, cleanest slime.
  • Second Best: Mix the full batch the day before and store it in a cool, shaded area.

Tips for Success if Preparing Early:

  • Keep it Covered: Use a lid or tarp. This protects the product from UV rays (which break down the polymers) and keeps out dust, leaves, or bugs.
  • The "Thick Mix" Trick: If mixing 24 hours early, use slightly less water than the standard ratio. This creates a thicker base that you can "refresh" with a splash of water on the day of the event to reach your perfect consistency.
  • Why we don't recommend "Several Days" in advance: Because our product is non-toxic and contains no harsh preservatives, when mixed, it is mostly water held in a gel matrix. Like a bucket of plain water, it can grow mold or bacteria if left sitting in the heat for multiple days. For the safest play, stick to a 24-hour limit.

Can I use the slime on concrete, and will it stain?

Our Safety Recommendation: Use on Grass Only

We do not recommend using our Instant Slime on concrete, tiles, or any hard surfaces.

For the best (and safest) experience, always stick to the lawn! The slick, smooth texture of our Instant Slime is what makes it so much fun for bucket dumps, slime slides, and game-show-style splashes. However, that same "slickness" becomes a major slip hazard on hard, non-porous surfaces like concrete, decking, or tiles. To keep the fun going without the wipeouts, keep the mess on the soft grass!

Regarding Stains:
If the product does accidentally get onto your concrete:

  • Temporary Color: Because of the high pigment levels (especially in our Blood Red Slime), it may leave a temporary tint on the surface.
  • The UV Solution: Don't panic! The sun is your best friend. Our colors are UV-sensitive, meaning direct sunlight will naturally bleach any residue away fairly quickly.

How much slime do I need for a slime color run?

If you are using water blasters, we recommend at least 1/4 gallon (1L) of slime per participant.

Remember to purchase extra slime for buckets, if you plan to slime the teacher or organisers after the event.

If you plan to include a slime crawl pool, you will need enough slime to fill your pool to your desired depth. Check out our full slime fun run guide here.

What is the best type of water blaster to use with Instant Slime?

For the best experience, we recommend "Suck and Spray" style blasters. These are the blasters that work like a giant syringe - you put the nozzle into the slime and pull the handle back to fill it. Since you are filling it through the "business end," you don't have to worry about thick slime clogging a tiny filling hole.

Look for these styles:

  • Pool Noodle Blasters: The foam-covered cylinders common at pool parties.
  • "Pencil" or Pipe Blasters: The long, thin plastic tubes that draw water up from the front.
  • Zuru X-Shot Fast-Fill: If you prefer a trigger-style blaster, these work great because the entire back of the gun flips open, allowing you to scoop or pour the slime in easily.

What to avoid: We don't recommend traditional blasters with small, screw-on water tanks or tiny "fill caps" on the top. These are designed for water and can be very slow and difficult to fill with slime.
