GLOW IN THE DARK NEON PLAY DOUGH RECIPE
INGREDIENTS FOR GLOWING PLAYDOUGH:
*2 cups of plain flour (all purpose)
*1/2 cup of salt
2 tablespoons of cream of tartar
*1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
*Up to 1.5 cups of water
*Non-toxic neon acrylic paints (5 colors; 1 tablespoon of each)
GLOWING PLAY DOUGH METHOD:
1. Mix the flour, salt, cream of tartar and oil in a large mixing bowl
2. Add the boiling water into the dry ingredients in small amounts and stir until it becomes a sticky dough.
3.Divide the dough into however many colors you wish to make.
4. Add one tablespoon of neon paint to the portions of dough and mix in until the colour has blended into the dough (you can add more paint if needed; turn on your Glowave LED black lights to make sure you are going to get a nice glow from the playdough).
5.Allow them to cool down then take them out of the bowl, add a touch more flour and knead vigorously for a couple of minutes until all of the stickiness has gone
NOTE: If the play-doh is still a bit sticky you can add more flour until it feels right
GLOW IN THE DARK CUP CAKE RECIPE
INGREDIENTS: (24 cupcakes)
*1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
*1/4 cup + 1 tablespoon tonic water
*6 cups confectioner's sugar
*3 ounce packet of Jello-O (yellow or green works best)
*1 cup boiling water
*1 cup chilled tonic water
METHOD:
1. Place the butter in a large bowl and beat with an electric mixer until pale and fluffy.
2. Add 1/4 cup + 1 tablespoon tonic water and 4 cups confectioner's sugar and mix until combined.
3.Add the remaining 2 cups confectioner's sugar and beat well.
Place the buttercream in a piping bag fitted with a large, round tip.
4. Pipe a large swirl of buttercream onto each cupcake.
5.Transfer the cupcakes to the fridge for at least an hour, until the buttercream is very stiff.
In the meantime, make the glaze.
6. Combine the Jell-o and boiling water and whisk until the jello has fully dissolved.
7. Add 1 cup chilled tonic water and whisk. Allow the Jell-o to cool to room temperature, but not so cool that it starts to set.
8. Dunk the cupcakes into the glaze so that only the buttercream is getting coated.
9. Place the cupcakes in the freezer until the glaze has set, then repeat 5 more times for a total of 6 layers of glaze. 6 layers will make the cupcakes glow the brightest!
Serve the cupcakes under a blacklight and watch them glow!
